Making Of Upp3k

First I used a mini DV camera and a portable green screen to take some test footage. This gave the actors a rehersal, and gave me a better idea of what the final version would look like. to see the pre-visualization footage watch this movie file:

To film Ultra Ping Pong 3000 I used California State University Monterey Bay’s Green Screen Studio. Each actor was individually filmed acting out the sequence of events based on the storyboards.

The background scenery was made in a 3D application called Maya.

The Composting was in Adobe After Effects. This is where the green screen was color keyed out, the footage was time re-mapped, and the yellow ball was added.

The Music was made in a program called “Soundtrack” which comes with some versions of Final Cut Pro. Soundtrack allows a user mix variety of pre-made musical loops. I synced the music with the action.

The projected was made Fall 2003.
